There was a time in my life when I feasted on these types of verses. In my journal, I wrote down every verse that had to do with enduring. Stereotypically, it was a time when a relationship was not working out like I wanted. However, because of my previously poor experiences with the opposite sex, I made up my mind I wasn’t going to be a victim this time. I chose to lean in to God, not waste the experience, and grow from it. Immaturity and selfishness can make you lose sight of what is available to you in a difficult time. This list is to remind me and you of what we have in our arsenal:
Romans 15:13 NLT
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 6:19-20a NAS
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us.
Isaiah 40:28-31 NLT
Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
Keep going, you are more than your pain and struggles.
